MUJO - an autonomous rideshare vehicle designed to offer a mobility service that bridges the gap between public and private transport.
The project focuses on how emerging technologies will shape future vehicles to deliver public transport services. Its aim is to design and develop a future vehicle concept that addresses current challenges in autonomous vehicle deployment (e.g. Waymo) while also touching on transport-as-a-service models.
PROBLEM
Deadheading
It refers to the time spent driving while the driver is waiting to get a ride. It also includes the time driving to and from passengers.
Privacy
It was discovered only 15% of the ride-hailing trips in U.S. are shared. The main reason being privacy and safety.
Accessibility
Lack of accessibility features in traditional vehicles. Making it harder for users to locate and access these vehicles.
Communication
Lack of feedback or almost no feedback with the immediate environment, pedestrians and other vehicles.
